At a 1 in 6000 rate with 161 TemTem to be in the game in the long run. Those Luma TemTem are always going to be sought after. For competitive and a collector Luma's will be the end game goal for bragging rights and good stats (However breeding will trump this for stats eventually). My issue resides with the different playstyles of the game. When you add to this the difference in chances to find certain TemTem (Barnshe, Kinu, Nessla, Etc) as well with multiple finding locations the number goes up. If luma are a 1 in 6,000 chance than just by the simplest of math the time required to do 6000 encounters would be around 33 hours.
That equates to roughly 180 encounters per hour. I play around 8-16 hours per day depending on the day and the work load. On average for me I can get around 2-3 encounters per minute. After playing the main story twice and only Luma hunting for around 35 hours (Going to continue until I get at least one!) I just had some thoughts I wanted to put out there. I just got into TemTem through the discord around two weeks ago. That's still not including whatever future methods we'll get to increase rates via breeding, chaining, etc. This makes the rate actually higher than the base number we're given. Everything you currently have is gonna get wiped anyway, so what's the rush?Īs YaW brought up in Discord as well, you encounter 2 Temtem during 50% of all wild encounters. Your patience for breeding to be added would be appreciated. That said, finding lumas is only important pre-breeding. You may have noticed on the 2nd island that there is a breeding center, but is currently closed. To those who bring up their importance in competitive play remember every time you login, there's a popup reminding you this is an alpha and things will change, not everything is there, etc. But them being more rare would be preferred seeing the potential incoming methods that could make them easier to obtain. Right now not everyone has them, despite popular belief, and that's a good thing.
They do need to feel special and when everyone has them, they don't feel that way. I'm completely for making them more rare than they currently are.
